Making Sense of Canada's Combatting Hate Act

The recent community briefing on Bill C-9 – the Combatting Hate Act – drew a large and highly engaged audience eager to understand what this proposed legislation truly means for Canadians. The session brought together leading criminal law experts to clearly explain the Bill’s key provisions – what it does and does not do – and explore its real-world implications for protecting vulnerable communities and countering antisemitism and other forms of hate.

Participants gained practical insight into the legislation, learned about key resources to support advocacy, and left better equipped to speak out for stronger protections against hate in Canada.
